Jürgen Paatz – Painting
The spring exhibition is devoted to a selection of painterly works by Jürgen Paatz (born 1943). The artist questions the manifold effects of color, form and materiality and traces the possibilities of their sensitive interplay in his works. Paatz applies the paint to canvas and paper in a gestural process, allowing structures, rhythms, and surfaces to emerge on the picture support. Only upon prolonged viewing do the finest color gradations and traces of work become apparent. Around 60 works from several decades reflect that "art of perception" that invites intensive seeing and feeling.
