Rita Rohlfing

The virtual in the concrete

The exhibition of the Cologne artist Rita Rohlfing (born 1964) is set in the context of the museum's own collection of color painting. For the premises of the house she has developed a site-specific concept of installation, projection, object boxes and photographs. With this, Rita Rohlfing counteracts the architectural austerity and heaviness as well as the seclusion of the building.

In the Garden Hall, for example, Rohlfing has realized an installation that transforms a window segment into a luminous color space, thus visually dissolving the separation between the architectural interior and the natural exterior. The exhibition is accompanied by an extensive catalog and a rich program of events.
